eBay, Australia’s largest marketplace, is giving you a glimpse into the future of shopping with the world’s first Virtual Reality Department Store, in partnership with Myer. The store combines eBay technology with amazing products from Myer and features more than 8,000 products, all updated in real-time.

The eBay Virtual Reality Department Store allows you to browse, select and purchase Myer products in a whole new way.

1. Personalise: you can select your interests at the beginning of the experience and then the store is custom built around your needs and passion points, making the most relevant products visible first. As you move through the store, the smart technology learns about your selections and suggests other products that might be interesting to you.

2. Browse: via the creation of eBay Sight Search™, you can view a product in the store and then by holding your gaze on it, the product floats towards you (many of them rotating in three dimensions). You are able quickly accelerate through different departments of the store, making the shopping experience much more efficient.

3. Research: you can simply lock eyes on the information icons to receive full product specifications, as well as price, availability and shipping details.

4. Purchase: just hold your eyes on the Add to Basket icon to buy and check out via the eBay platform

The eBay VR Department Store app is compatible with eBay’s Shopticals, a specially-designed virtual reality viewing device, any Google Cardboard device and Samsung’s Gear VR. Follow the instructions on your chosen device to launch the eBay VR department Store.
